STP GDI Intake Valve Cleaner
YOU WILL NEED SCREWDRIVER • SAFETY GLASSES • GLOVES
PLEASE READ STEPS 1 THROUGH 5 BEFORE BEGINNING. USAGE REQUIRES 2 PEOPLE.
STEP 1. Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area or outdoors. Start the engine, let it idle for approximately 5 minutes and then shut off. Note down the idle speed for reference.
STEP 2. With the engine off, open the hood and locate the throttle body. It is situated after the engine air filter and boot connection on the engine side. Use a screwdriver to loosen the clamp and slightly pull back the top of the boot.
STEP 3. Shake the can gently. Insert the end of the hose towards the throttle plate. Secure the hose in place on the throttle body and slide protective aluminum guide so it protects hose from crimping. Re-attach the air intake boot back onto the throttle body and ensure a tight seal.
STEP 4. PERSON 1: Start the engine and rev to about 2,000 rpm. Accelerate if needed to avoid stalling, but do not exceed 3,000 rpm.
PERSON 2: Depress and spray the formula in 20 second intervals while the engine is revving. Continue spraying until the can is empty. Avoid contact with the hot engine. Once the can is empty, shut off the engine
STEP 5. Loosen the air intake boot just enough to remove the hose and guide from the throttle body. Reattach and re-clamp the connection securely. Drive the vehicle for 10 to 15 minutes to ensure the formula is fully exhausted from the intake system, removing any remaining carbon buildup.
- FOR ALL GASOLINE ENGINES
- USE EVERY 10,000 MILES TO HELP KEEP INTAKE VALVES CLEAR FROM
DEPOSITS.
